The Best in Venice is a travel guide to Venice for first-time visitors, especially from the United States, who want clear answers: what is worth seeing, how to get tickets, where to stay, how the water buses work and when to go.

The site is part of a small network of independent guides to Italy run by Arturo Giampieri, who also publishes The Best in Milan. The guides are signed by Marco Visentin, the pen name of our local Venice expert.

Prices, timetables and ticket rules are checked on official sources before each guide is published, and every guide shows the date it was last updated. No venue pays to appear in these guides. Some links are affiliate links, as explained in the affiliate disclosure.
